XBtool 1.0.8b6

>> XBtool(info) is a bios editor by NghtShd. This beta version now includes PaulB's +137gb (LBA48) HD support (see development thread) in the kernel (use at own risk - it's beta!).
What's New/Fixed:
* Warning: major code changes. Use only if you can recover from a bad flash. The 4978 patcher is experimental at this point.
* Paul Bartholomew's LBA48 and partition table patches. (Not fully tested)
* 4978.03 support added (dropped other two 4978 BIOSes, since they hang some machines).
* Dialog rearranged.
* Fixed crash in general dash patching function.
* Changed the way colors are patched so rounding errors don't happen when the colors aren't changed.

>> Office System 2003 Leaks To Web

Thanks Betaz. More than a month before retail availability, the final version of Office System 2003 (sporting build #5606) has already been leaked to the net. The leak comes in on 5 CDs and includes all the well-known members of the Office System family as well as the two latest additions, OneNote and InfoPath.

Naturally, there isn't that much of a difference compared to the Beta 2 Technical Refresh, but still you might want to check out some screenshots of this puppy over here.

>>Lower-priced iPaq makes debut

The slim h1935 is similar to the $299 h1945 model introduced in June, although without that device's built-in Bluetooth wireless capability. The new model, which will sell for $199 after a $50 rebate, has only half as much read-only memory (ROM) and comes with just a 90-day warranty, compared with the one-year warranty that comes with other iPaq models.

HP's introduction of the new model, which is similar to one already selling in Europe and Asia, comes after the company reported disappointing earnings, including a return to red ink for the business unit that encompasses PCs and handheld computers. Handhelds have been one of the company's strong suits, thanks to the iPaq brand Compaq Computer established. However, rivals such as Dell have been making inroads due in part to lower prices

>>Microsoft wins OK for Xbox wireless adapter

Microsoft has won federal approval for a wireless adapter for its Xbox video game console that allows players to connect to the Internet without cabling, according to a posting on a regulatory Web site.

The site for the Office of Engineering and Technology of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission shows that approval for the unit was granted late Thursday.

A Microsoft spokeswoman said the FCC posted the information about the device in error, but she confirmed the adapter had been approved. She said the government office agreed to a request to keep product details confidential ahead of a planned product launch.
